Locating in the northwest of peninsular Malaysia, Kuala Kurau is a small fishing village, she wraps a warming and relaxing environment.

We tend to keep the original features of this old house, which probably ages more than 50 years, for its original charms and structures. Ikan Kurau homestay is a 2 storey semi concrete/wooden house, locating along main road ( Jalan Pantai aka Coast Road) of Kuala Kurau. 2 cars can be parked right at our front car pouch area, where the remaining vehicles can be parked at the free public car park area within 2 mins walking distance.

Upon step in, you will be welcomed by our spacious living ( though it is not air conditioned, yet the high wooden ceiling will not let you feel warm, followed by the basic kitchen where basic essentials such as fridge, water kettle, cutleries,( bare in mind that cooking stove/ microwave are not provided and cooking is prohibited) , it is then continued with shared toilets area ( 2 rain shower rooms and 2 toilets) and our signature waterfront facing backyard. Either having a sip of aroma coffee ( bring your own), reading your favourite book, or even fishing (  bring your own rod and accessories) are some of the few favourite activities loved most by our guests.

All bed rooms are located at upstairs. Street view room is a double bed room facing the street ( do bring ear buds if you are light sleeper ) , the middle room is a 8 pax dorm room where it comes with 4 bunk beds. Both street view room and dorm room are not attached with its own toilet in the room, you will have to get to down stairs for the toilet usage. The sea view room is the biggest room room and yes, it is an ensuite room which does come with attached toilet in the room plus a small balcony as well.

All rooms are located at upstairs and they are air-conditioned.

Due to the strategic location, Kuala Kurau is located not far from the major cities, 1 hour from Penang/ Taiping and 4 hours driving distance from Kuala Lumpur. It is also easily accessed by various public transport from train/ coach ( to Parit Buntar station), or car.

Throw away your worrisome on the food  concerns as food is available all day long even midnight , varies from Chinese, Malay, Indian food and we even have few Vietnamese food stalls recently!

Explore the local famous salted egg factory, rice mill, boat making factory, paddy filed, boat riding along Kurau river and some of the popular activities among the tourists. You may just sleep in our hammock at the backyard doing nothing but watching the birds flying while enjoying the breeze.

Oh gosh, feeling I am writing essay for my schoolwork.

Ask us, if you have doubts.
